The MTV Brand and its association with GO The MTV brand is owned by the internationally renowned Music Television who has entered into an agreement with GO. MTV will make use of GO's expertise in the mobile telecommunication sector to promote its brand through a mobile service product. The Branded 'MTV Mobile' service will be entirely dependent on the mobile infrastructure owned by GO. Through the promotion of this service, GO will aim to attract new subscribers to its network through the association made with the third-party brand.
The Branded MTV Mobile will consist of what features?
MTV Mobile powered by GO will consist of the following features:
> A prepaid tariff
> A closed-user group on the prepaid platform (IN) and hence considered as off-net
> A dedicated SIM profile
> A dedicated website
> A dedicated web portal
> A dedicated WAP mobile portal
Will MTV Mobile have a dedicated web presence?
The branded website will be distinct from GO's and will have a distinct URL: www.mtvmobile.com.mt .
Initially, the content portfolio will be exposed through the internet portal and content downloads will only be made through the WAP mobile portal.
Will users of MTV Mobile have access to 'myGO'?
No. MTV Mobile customers will have a specific web portal and hence get the chance to create a personalised MTV account. Through 'myMTV' similar services such as web to SMS and online topup will be available to these subscribers.
Can an existing GO Mobile customer migrate to MTV Mobile?
Yes, an existing GO Mobile customer can migrate to MTV Mobile. The process to migrate an existing GO Mobile customer to MTV Mobile is based on a SIM replacement process. The customer is given a new MTV SIM.
Can an existing GO Mobile customer retain any free on-net talk-time acquired through offers if s/he migrates to MTV Mobile?
No. Any free GO Mobile to GO Mobile talk-time acquired through 2008/2009 GO Mobile offers will be lost if the customer migrates from GO Mobile to the MTV Mobile Service. Other GO Mobile customers enjoying similar monthly free talk-time will not be able to make use of this talk-time when calling GO Mobile customers migrating to the MTV Mobile Service.
Will there be different top up vouchers associated with MTV Mobile?
No. Current GO top up vouchers will be used by subscribers to the MTV Mobile Service.
What other means of topping up will be available to MTV Mobile subscribers?
MTV Mobile subscribers will initially be able to top up their account online, through the MTV web portal myMTV. Additional services, such as SMS top-up will also be shortly available.
When subscribing to the MTV Mobile service, are there any particular settings to be activated / service to be provisioned?
MTV Mobile subscribers should be provisioned for GPRS, WAP, MMS, TV Streaming and internet. Subscribers should have their handsets set to be able to use these services accordingly.
Will web browsing rates apply to MTV Mobile subscribers?
Web/WAP browsing through the subscriber mobile device will be charged at standard applicable rates according to your tariff plan. However any access to the MTV Mobile WAP portal will be free of charge.
What content charges will apply to MTV Mobile subscribers?
All content downloads made through the MTV WAP portal will be free of charge. All WAP/GPRS bearer charges for the transport of the content will be free of charge whilst in Malta. When roaming, roaming rates apply. Content downloads and streaming will be free of charge with a fair usage policy on streaming. Video on Demand is free for a limited period and TV streaming is free until further notice.
Will MTV Mobile user be eligible for the mobile benefits of Home Pack?
No, subscribers to the MTV Mobile Service will not be eligible for the mobile benefits (400 mobile minutes to be shared between 4 community numbers & the fixed line number on which the Talk Anytime tariff is activated).
Can an MTV Mobile customer be part of the 3 Club numbers on the Club prepaid tariff plan?
Yes, because the Club tariff plan allows a GO Customer on this prepaid plan to choose numbers from any network as their preferred club numbers.
What is the customer care number for MTV Mobile customers?
1644 is the customer care number for MTV Mobile customers calling from their mobile phone. 1644 is free to all subscribers of MTV Mobile. Customers can also dial 79221644 from their mobile which is however chargeable at the rates applicable to the customer's tariff plan.
Will MTV Mobile customers have free daily SMS from their 'myMTV' account?
Yes, MTV Mobile customers with a 'myMTV' account will also be able to send free SMS daily to other MTV mobile customers. 8 free online SMSs can be sent daily to other MTV Mobile customers.
Can an MTV Mobile customer change tariff to any other GO Mobile prepaid tariff plan through SMS?
No. If a customer to the MTV Mobile Service sends a message to the dedicated SMS provisioning number of any particular GO prepaid tariff (e.g.: to migrate to Talk Plan send message containing 'Talk' to 4400) a message will be sent informing the customer to visit a retail outlet to perform the subscription change.
Can Post-paid customers migrate to MTV Mobile?
Yes they can. However before migration occurs, any outstanding bills must be paid in full prior to change in service. All existing bundles associated with postpaid tariff plans will not be transferred to the new service.
1. What is the TV streaming service?
When accessing MTV Mobile's streaming service, you will be able to stream MTV Music and MTV Shorts TV channels directly on your mobile phone.
2. What should I do to start streaming TV on my mobile?
To start using this service, you must follow these steps :
1. Call 1644 or visit any of GO Mobile's retail outlet to be setup.
2. MTV Mobile's Customer Care representatives will verify your handset to ensure that the handset is compliant with the list of 'approved' handsets for this service.
3. If the handset supports the TV streaming service, Customer Care will send you the settings Over The Air (OTA) to be able to start using the service. If your handset does not support OTA settings, you can setup your phone by either visiting any of GO Mobile's Customer Contact Centres or calling 1644.
4. Once subscribed and provisioned, you can access the mtvmobile wap portal and click on the TV channel or Video on Demand icons to start streaming live TV channels or Video Library content.

The list of handsets which can be used for streaming is updated on a regular basis. Please contact customer care for an updated list of supported handsets.
3. How much will it cost me to use this service?
Streaming of MTV Music and MTV shorts is currently free, subject to a fair usage policy.
4. How can subscribe to the bundles to stream TV channels ?
You can activate your 30 day subscription by clicking on the TV channel icon on the mtvmobile wap portal from your mobile phone. For each channel, you will be asked to subscribe for 30 days and the price is FREE. After your 30 days expire you may renew your subscription for FREE for as many times as you like.
If you do not see the TV Streaming or Video on Demand icons on your portal, it is likely that your handset does not support the service. Call 1644 to check.
5. Is it possible to use this service when I am abroad?
No. This service is only available whilst in Malta.

When accessing MTV Mobile's Video on Demand service, you will be able to stream short video clips of MTV programmes directly to your mobile phone.
2. What should I do to start streaming the video clips?
To start using this service, you must follow these steps :
a). Once your handset is set up and you are provisioned for streaming services, you can access the MTV Mobile WAP site and select the 'Video on Demand' link through to start browsing and streaming the video clip of your choice.
5. Certain handsets will prompt you to save an 'sdp' file before you can start streaming. This file must be saved and will be overwritten every time you choose to stream a video clip which you would have already streamed on the same handset.
3. How much will it cost me to use this service?
As an introductory offer, streaming of video on demand clips is FREE.
4. What content is available for streaming from the video library?
The content is placed under various categories of MTV programmes to make it easier for you to find the desired content for streaming. Content will be continuously updated.
5. Is it possible to use this service when I am abroad?
No. This service is only available whilst in Malta.
